Report of the 4th African Championship in Bamako, Mali
- Following the candidature file for the organization of the 4th African Championship, submitted by the Malian Federation of Vovinam-VVD. (Ref: 95-17-TLDTG / EN- 04-2017).
- Following the favorable response and the mission order (Ref: 31-2017-TLD / TG / FR-06-06-2017) from the President of the World Federation of Vovinam-VVD.
- Following the authorization of the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Mali (Ref: V / L No. 25011 / FMVVVD / 276, 28-April-2017).
The Malian federation of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao organized under the auspices of the African Federation of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao, the 4th African Championship of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao in Bamako from 11 to 18 November 2017 at the sports hall of Salamatou MAIGA
The organization of this championship was made in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports, of the Republic of Mali, following the decisions of the minister n ° 35 "creating the national commission of organization of the 4th African championship of Vovinam VVD" and No. 36 "fixing the nominative list of members of the National Organizing Commission".
The African Cup was preceded by an international internship from 12 to 14 November 2017 and an international rank crossing on 15 November 2017.

II.The international internship in Bamako
The Vovinam Viet Vo Dao International Seminar took place from Sunday 12th to Tuesday 14th November 2017 at the Salamatou MAIGA sports hall, under the technical direction of the Grand Master TRAN Nguyen DAO, President of the International Technical Board, assisted by :
- Master BLOUME Daniel (France),
- Master MIESCH Philippe (France),
- Master MIETHE Didier (Vietnam),
- Master GUERRIB Amar (France),
- Master FALL Moustapha (Sénégal),
- Master KA Maham (Senegal).
About 80 practitioners took part in this great internship.

The internship program
The programs were divided according to levels as follows:
1.For the 3rd CAP: Long Ho Quyen, 2nd Song Luyen, 12 against attacks from knife techniques, Song Luyen Dao, 9 techniques against attacks of the 3rd, 4th and 5th level, 10 Chien Luoc from 11 to 20 and all the basic techniques.
2.For the 1st DANG: Lao Mai Quyen, 8 technique of VAT (11-18), 2nd Song Luyen Vat, 7 techniques against sword attacks from 1 to 7, Luong Nghi Kiem Phap, 6 against-attack techniques : 6th and 7th levels, 5 Chien Luoc from 21 to 25 and all the basic techniques.
3.For the 2nd DANG: Viet Vo Dao Quyen, 3rd Song Luyen, 8 techniques against sword attacks (8-15), Tu Tuong Bong Phap, Song Luyen Kiem, 5 Chien Luoc 26 to 30 and all technical basic.
4.For the 3rd DANG: Dai Dao Quyen Phap, Ngoc Tran Quyen, Moc Ban, 4th Song Luyen
5.For the 4th DANG: Quyen Ha Bong Phap
III.International examination session of ranks
On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, the Vovinam Viet Vo Dao examination session of ranks was held for 1st Dang, 2nd Dang and 3rd Dang ranks.
After several days of intensive training, an international graduation session was organized on Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th DANG grades.
This grade passage recorded the participation of 24 Malian candidates and one Ivorian candidate, ie a total of 25 candidates divided as follows:
- Eight (8) candidates to the rank of 1st DANG.
- Eleven (11) candidates for the grade of 2nd DANG.
- Six (6) candidates to the rank of 3rd DANG.

IV.Reception by the Minister of Sports and the sports authorities of Mali.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, the international delegation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao was received by the Minister of Sports as well as the National Directorate of Sports and Physical Education and the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Mali. The personalities met are:
- Mr Housseini Amion GUINDO, Minister of Sports,
- Mr Sékou DAWA, Secretary General of the Minister of Sports,
- Mr. Allaye SAMASSEKOU, technical adviser to the Minister of Sports, president of the national commission of organization of the 4th African Cup of Vovinam VVD,
- Mr. Aliou MAÏGA, Deputy National Director of Sports and Physical Education,
- Mr. Habib SISSOKO, President of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Mali.
V.4th African Championship of Vovinam VVD:
Seven countries took part in the African championship on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 November 2017 at the Salamatou MAIGA Sports Palace. These are: Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, France (invited country), Mali, Mauritania, Niger and Senegal.
The event registered 154 participants including: 19 masters, 126 competitors and 9 families:

The competition began with an opening ceremony on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 8:00 am with speeches from:
- Mr. Allaye SAMASSEKOU, Technical Advisor of the Minister of Sports, President of the National Commission of Organization of the 4th African Cup of Vovinam VVD,
- Mr. Fernand OUEDRAOGO, President of the African Federation of Vovinam VVD.
- Master NDOYE Oumar, National Technical Director of the Malian Federation of Vovinam VVD

The grand final took place on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 16:30. It was preceded by a parade of the various delegations and speeches of:
- Mr. KEITA Modibo, Mayor of commune of Bamako,
- Lieutenant Colonel TRAORE Abdoulaye Moussa, President of the Malian Federation of Vovinam-VVD,
- Mr. OUEDRAOGO Fernand, President of the African Federation of Vovinam-VVD,
- Grand Master TRAN Nguyen Dao, President of the International Technical Board, representing the World Federation of Vovinam VVD.
The championship took place in an atmosphere of celebration and fraternal exchanges. The competitors shone in proudness, performing in front of the Malian authorities, the personalities of the world federation, the African federation and many other media coverage of the event. Saturday, November 18, 2017, was held the meeting of the African Federation of Vovinam VVD from 9am to 12pm at the Salamatou MAIGA Sports Palace.
