of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao

Demonstration at the Grand Theater of Hanoi

And intensive internship in 2019 in Vietnam

Eighty years ago ... a young man, 27 years old, decided to officially present his art for the first time to the general public at the Grand Theater of Hanoi, Vietnam, in the autumn of 1939 ... This young man is called NGUYEN Loc and art presented in this demonstration is the VOVINAM. 

… It was a great success… and this event marked the official birth of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao.

Since this memorable date, all over the world, every practitioner in Vovinam Viet Vo Dao dreams of realizing the same journey by reliving history at the Grand Theater of Hanoi.. 

This year, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the official presentation of Vovinam, we will revive this extraordinary demonstration in the same place of "our birth": The Grand Theater of Hanoi in Vietnam.

Project Objectives: 

• Intensive international internship (every day and 5 hours a day), including a week in Hanoi (capital of VN) and a week in Sapa (High mountainous plateaus north of the VN, close to the border with China). You will be supervised by masters among the most illustrious (at VN and abroad). 

• Great demonstration in Hanoi to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the first demonstration of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao done by our founding master at the great theater of Hanoi in 1939. On this exceptional occasion, we will invite the Ambassadors of each delegation present, the country's sports authorities and personalities from Vovinam-VVD in VN. 

• International Master's thesis defense. It is a project both symbolic and prestigious for the image of Vovinam-VVD and also for those who come to this exceptional event. 

Indeed, for the third time, international masters return to the source of their martial art to present to present the results of their labors and thus perpetuate our noble tradition of Vovinam-VVD. A tradition that the Vovinam-VVD in Vietnam itself has lost for more than 40 years (The training of the masters and the thesis presentation are obligatory). 

Several academics, masters and eminent personalities of the civil society and the cultural service of the French Embassy are currently solicited to participate in this project. 

For whom:

Between 50 and 120 people maximum (escorts included). This trip is for all VietVoDao-Sinh :   France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, the countries of the East ..., Senegal, Mali, Burkina-Faso ..., Canada, USA, Australia ... wishing to deepen their knowledge of Vovinam-VietVoDao in the country of its founder and live together exceptional historical events.

• The Institute for Vovinam and Sport Development (Hanoi, VN). 

Dates: August 15 to 29, 2019. Location: Hanoi, Halong, Sapa. 

Flights. At the moment, the prices of the airline ticket are: (For France, Belgium and Switzerland): 

-        Direct flight: between 800€ and 1,000€ by Air Vietnam or Air France.

-        Flight with stopover: between 700€ and 900€ by other companies.

Here are the dates to consider :

• 15, 16 August 2019: Welcoming newcomers to Hanoi,
• Beginning of the Internship: Friday, August 16, 2019,
• Big demonstration at the Grand Theater of Hanoi: Friday 23 August 2019.
• End of the Internship: Wednesday, August 29, 2019.

 You can come rather and / or leave later if you wish to make additional tours (our travel agency can present you its proposals). 

Internship Fees: The prices are not yet final and negotiations with the various tourist agencies are not yet finished. Nevertheless, here are our estimates: 

• A minimum of 700€ and a maximum of 850€ per person (Stage + tourist circuit + Hotel + full board for 2 weeks - at best, it represents about 45€ per day and per person).

-        Intensive course with masters from the international and Vietnam.

-        Thesis presentation of international masters.

-        Tours to: HANOI - SAPA - Halong (see Annex: Tours)

-        All transportation on site.

-        English or French guide

-        3 star hotel in double room and full board. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

• Thesis defense of International Masters. It is a project both symbolic and prestigious for the image of Vovinam-VVD, but also for those who come to this exceptional event. 

Indeed for the third time, international masters return to the source of their martial art to present the results of their labors in the historical setting of the first university of Vietnam (Temple of Literature - 11th century - defense of theses for doctors in martial arts and literature) and thus perpetuate the noble tradition of Vovinam-VVD

Several academics, masters and imminent personalities of the civil society and the cultural service of the French Embassy are currently solicited to participate in this project.

Hanoi :

-        Trấn Quốc Pagoda located on the island of West Lake, built in the 6th century.

-        Quán Thánh Temple: Taoist temple of the 11th century.

-        The Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university - 11th century.

-        Old Quarter of Hanoi and around Hoan Kiem Lake.

 Halong bay : (160 km from Hanoi)

 Sapa (320 km from Hanoi) 

• Bac Ha - Sapa market. This open-air market, surrounded by mountains, is mainly frequented by the flower H'mong, but also the black Dao, Phu La, Tay, Nung and Giay ethnic groups, which color the markets with their ethnic-specific tunics.
• 1st Trekking in the Cat Cat village, H'mong ethnic group (5 km). We will have the opportunity to see local crafts, discover waterfalls and an old hydroelectric station built by the French.
• 2nd Trekking (about 14km / 7 hours) to the village Lao Chai - Lunch on site - Overnight homestay in the village of Ta Van
