-   Following the order of mission No : 169-2016-CTI/EN-22-10-2016 of the President of the International Technical Board (see annex attached)

-    Following the request of the President of the International Technical Board and the favorable reply of the Secretary General of the World Council of Masters for the constitution of the National Council of Masters of Burkina-Faso

The international internship was organized from Sunday 04 to Saturday 10 December 2016 in Ouagadougou, the capital of the Republic of Burkina-Faso

 II.Burkina-Faso Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao

 

Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao Burkina-Faso has existed for more than 32 years. It was established in 1984 by Master TRAN Nguyen Dao during his first internship in Ouagadougou.

This seminar marked the spirits and trained many cadres and masters for the continent of Africa. The best known teachers are: KINDA Jean-Pascal (One of the founders of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao Burkina-Faso), KONOMBO Alfred (Pioneer of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao Burkina-Faso), SENE Abdoulaye (Technical Director of Senegal), NASSOURI Moussa (Technical Director of Burkina-Faso), SAVADOGO Arouna (President of the National Council of Masters of Burkina-Faso), ... Since then, the Martial Art Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao is on the road to development. And here is its summary:

-        Application for membership of the World Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao, January 08, 2010.

-        Obtaining the official recognition of the World Federation, 10 May 2010.

Since the international examination of rank in Dakar, Senegal in 2015, the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao Burkina-Faso has 9 masters: (see the list of masters on the official website)

III.The international internship in Ouagadougou 

1The organizer of the course 

The organizing committee is composed mainly of the leaders of the Burkina-Faso Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao

The opening ceremony of the workshop started at 09:00 hours on Sunday, December 04, 2016 in the training room of the Institute of Sports Sciences and Human Development (ISSDH), within OUAGA-1 University, In the presence of numerous guests, including the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and the media, including two television stations (TMB and BF1) and two representatives of the print media (Sidwaya and Le Pays).

The opening speeches of the Secretary General, the President of the Federation, then the Grand Master Dao and finally the representative of the Ministry are sober, in a festive atmosphere before many highly motivated trainees including:

-        10 masters

-        20 black belts from 1st to 3rd Dang

-        50 blue belts 3rd Cap.

A total of 80 practitioners. Since this course is reserved for masters, teachers and future teachers (3rd Cap), the other blue belts are not allowed. But exceptionally on Wednesday, December 07, we gave half a day for about forty children.

 IV. Friendly visit to Mrs KINDA 

On Monday, December 5, 2016 at 08:00, the leaders of the Burkina-Faso Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao led the international delegation to visit the home of the widow of the regretted master Jean-Pascal KINDA, in the presence of the president of the National Committee Olympic and Sports Burkina-Faso, for a friendly visit.

It should be remembered that Master KINDA was the victim of the terrorist attack claimed by Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb on January 15, 2016 at the Splendid Hotel in Ouagadougou, Burkina-Faso.

Master Jean-Pascal KINDA, born on April 6, 1944 (73 years old), married with 4 children, was elected to the World Council of Masters of the World Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao in 2012 )

He started the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao in 1982 with Master TRAN Nguyen Dao, and obtained his 4th Dang in 2001, and the 5th Dang in 2012.

His background and contribution to the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao are exemplary:

-        1985-1987: President of the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao movement in Burkina-Faso.

-        1988-2012: President of the Burkina-Faso Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao.

-        2012: Elected as members of the World Council of Masters of the World Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao.

-        Elected twice President of the National Olympic Committee and Sports Burkina-Faso (2004-2012).

 

Beyond this journey, he embodies the image of a true Master of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao, a simple, humble, generous man, hardworking and appreciated by all

 

V. Installation ceremony of the National Council of Masters of Burkina-Faso

The installation meeting of the National Council of Masters was organized on Tuesday 06 December 2016 at 20:00 precise at the hotel AMISO. The Burkina-Faso masters present are:

-        Teacher MALAM MAMANE Ibrahim Loucoumane, representative of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao of Niger.

The solemn meeting is chaired by the grand master TRAN Nguyen Dao, representative of the World Council of Masters. To begin with, he appointed Master SAWADOGO Philippe, secretary of the meeting. He then recalled the purpose of the meeting and the authorization of the World Council of Masters by which the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao of Burkina-Faso may constitute its own National Council of Masters, in accordance with Article 12 of the Rules of Procedure of the World Council of Masters

Master Dao has extensively explained and answered many questions concerning the way in which the National Council of Masters operates, its powers, its responsibilities and its place within the Federation 

2Election of the President of the National Council of Masters

 

At 20:30 precise, Master Dao started the following procedure:

1. 1.Call for candidates: Master SAVADOGO Arouna
2. 2.Invites the members present to propose nominations: None
3. 3.Members having the right to vote: 8 votes
4. 4.Voting members present: 7 votes. So the minimum number of votes required to be elected is 4 votes out of 7.
5. 5.The method of voting is by secret ballot
6. 6.The appointed deputy returning officers are: Federal President OUEDRAOGO Fernand and Master SAWADOGO Philippe.

The results are:

 

-        Master SAVADOGO Arouna received 6 votes

-        One abstention vote

At 9 pm, master Dao officially proclaimed the results and congratulated the 1st President of the National Council of Masters of Burkina-Faso, master SAVADOGO Arouna 

3Installation ceremony of the President of the National Council of Masters 

In accordance with the procedure, the installation ceremony was meticulously respected in a solemn atmosphere. After taking his oath before his peers and before the representative of the World Council of Masters, Master SAVADOGO Arouna officially took his place and presided over his 1st National Council of Masters.

He delivered his first speech as President to thank the National Council of Masters and international institutions for the trust they have placed in him. He made his commitment and asked the Masters members of the Council to help him in his mission for his mandate 2016-2020.

Then the master president of the National Council of the Masters proceeded to the closing of the works of the National Council of the Masters in the joy and the harmony. 

VI.International internship activity

The course is supervised by the great master TRAN Nguyen Dao with the assistance of the international expert, master BLOUME Daniel, 2nd degree red belt (6th DANG). The programs are divided according to the levels as follows: 

1The internship program

1. 1. For the 3^rd CAP: Long Ho Quyen, 2nd Song Luyen, 12 against attacks from knife techniques, Song Luyen Dao, 9 techniques against attacks of the 3rd, 4th and 5th level, 10 Chien Luoc from 11 to 20 and all the basic techniques.
   2. For the 1st DANG: Lao Mai Quyen, 8 technique of VAT (11-18), 2nd Song Luyen Vat, 7 techniques against sword attacks from 1 to 7, Luong Nghi Kiem Phap, 6 against-attack techniques : 6th and 7th levels, 5 Chien Luoc from 21 to 25 and all the basic techniques.
   3. For the 2nd DANG: Viet Vo Dao Quyen, 3rd Song Luyen, 8 techniques against sword attacks (8-15), Tu Tuong Bong Phap, Song Luyen Kiem, 5 Chien Luoc 26 to 30 and all technical basic.
   4. For the 3^rd DANG: Dai Dao Quyen Phap and Ngoc Tran Quyen.
   5. For the 4th DANG: The techniques of counter-attacks of Ma Tau.

 

Scissors techniques (Don Chan) are not dispensed due to lack of time.

After 5 days of intensive training, an International examination session of ranks was held Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Institute of Sports Science and Human Development (I.S.S.D.H) for ranks 1st, 2nd and 3rd DANG

3Closing of the International internship

The international internship ends with a closing ceremony on December 9, 2016, still in the same premises of the Institute of Sport Sciences and Human Development (I.S.S.D.H). It was an atmosphere of unforgettable celebration with all participants from 5 countries and special guests as: the representative of His Majesty, the King of the Mossi, the representative of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, representatives of sister federations: the Federation of Vo Viet Nam, Vo Khi Thuat, Karate ... as well as the president of the National Olympic Committee and Sports Burkina-Faso. The press and television stations also responded.

After the speeches of the official institutions like:

Master SAVADOGO Arouna, President of the National Council of Masters, proclaims the results of the passing of grades and conducts the ceremony of awarding of belt and diploma to the majors and second of each promotion. It was a moment of emotion and joy on the faces of all the winners and participants 

VII.Reception by the Minister of Sports and Recreation.

On Wednesday, December 07, 2016, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Dr. TAIROU BANGRE and the Director General of Sports YAMEOGO Jean received the international delegation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao, which consisted of:

 

1. Grand Master TRAN Nguyen Dao, representative of the World Council of Masters and the World Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao.
2. Master NDOYE Oumar, representative of the Malian Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao
3. Master KOUYATE Vazoumana, representative of the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao of Côte d'Ivoire
4. Teacher MALAM MAMANE Ibrahim Loucoumane, representative of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao of Niger.
5. Teacher DOUTI-LARE Damgal, representative of the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao of TOGO.
6. The representatives of the Burkina-Faso Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao are: 

-        Federal President: OUEDRAOGO Fernand

-        The President of the National Council of Masters: Master SAVADOGO Arouna

-        The National Technical Director: Master NASSOURI Moussa

During this reception, the Minister noted that the Burkina-Faso Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao is very dynamic and the training course was very well organized. That Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao can now count on the support of the Ministry for all other sports activities in the future.

Grand Master TRAN Nguyen Dao warmly thanked, on behalf of the World Council of Masters and the World Federation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao, the warm gestures and support of the Ministry towards the Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao of Burkina-Faso. To mark and engrave forever this meeting with the Minister, the great master offered his saber (a real cutting saber, which he had already used) to the Minister. It is an honor reserved only to men of size and wisdom 

VIII.Reception by His Majesty the King of Mossi

On Friday, December 09, 2016, the entire international delegation was privileged to be received by His Majesty Mogho Naba, King of Mossi (A dynasty that has existed since the 12th century), as well as by the dignitaries of the royal court.

After the presentation of the members of the international delegation of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao, his majesty warmly thanked the actions and support of the World Federation towards the Burkina-Faso federation in particular and the youth of the country in general.

The grand master also expressed his emotions and thanked his majesty for having received the delegation with all the honors. Given that his majesty is a lover of sport and a grand sportsman himself, the grand master decided to offer a saber to the King of Mossi, it was a moment of joy and reciprocal pleasure.

To conclude the King invited the whole delegation to visit the sports museum of his majesty and the grand master TRAN Nguyen Dao delivered his impressions and dedicated the museum's guestbook on behalf of the World Council of Masters and of the World Federation of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao
